Submitting a file that's over 2GB
My file size is more than 2GB. How do I submit it to Claudio?
Part 1. Using VLC To Compress Files Into A Smaller Size
Since some formats like MKV and AVI use too much space, it's better to convert your video to a smaller-sized format like FLV or WMV.
VLC allows you to convert video/audio files without having to install any other additional software, so you can reduce the size of the file to a certain extent.
Below is a detailed tutorial on how VLC converts videos.
Step 1: Download and install the VLC Media Player application, then open it.
Step 2: Go to Menu and click on Media > Convert/save and select the video you need. Then click Add > Convert/Save when you are done.
Step 3: Select the file type that you want to convert the video to.
Step 4: Start the VLC video compression by clicking the Start button.
Part 2. Change the Video Bit Rate/Frame Rate
Different video parameters like frame rate, resolution, etc. also influence video size.
So, another way to reduce your file size is by using VLC resize the video to gain more space on your memory device. This also makes it easier to upload the video to websites like YouTube where you need specific video parameters like frame rate, bit rate, etc.
Repeat the tutorial of converting the video to a smaller-sized format in Part 1, then click on the Settings icon next to the Profile section. After, click on the Video Codec tab and enter the height and width of the video.
Please keep in mind that the aspect ratio should be the same as before to keep the better video quality.
