FAQ
How does Claudio deal with multiple different languages in the same recording?
This article will briefly describe how multiple languages are handled within Claudio.
When it comes to language detection and transcription, Claudio handles that task with a very high degree of accuracy. Claudio also supports a wide variety of languages, and can distinguish between accents.
But what does Claudio do when there are more than one speaker present on the recording that speaks a different language? The answer to that is simple...Profiles and Regions.
When you create an account in Claudio, one of the requirements is to select the region in which you are currently located, and will be using the account in.
Each region has a number of preset profiles that determine which language that Claudio will focus on and include in the transcription.
TIP: You can learn how to create a Claudio account by clicking here.
To review the various profiles that Claudio offers as a service, click here.
When a certain profile is selected, be it to detect English or French, and a language is introduced in the audio that does not fit the parameters of the profile, Claudio will ignore the introduced language.
So for example if you have a selected a profile to transcribe a document in French and English, anyone speaking any other language than those two will not be transcribed by the app.
Specific transcription needs are tuned on a case by case basis, meaning if you require a transcript for a media file that has speakers using a language that is currently outside of the current Claudio profiles, you would need to have a special profile created for that need.
