When you're typing up a transcription, you may find that you want to set the playback speed of the recording to go a bit faster or a bit slower. Express Scribe offers an option for you to edit how fast or slow a media file can be played back. Let's take a look at the guide below to see how we can make these changes in Scribe.

While in Scribe, go to Options.

Select Playback.

Change the Default Slow Playback Speed to your desired percentage.

Change the Default Fast Playback Speed to your desired percentage.

You can also change the "Auto backstep on stop" setting to something like 300ms. This will skip back the assigned amount to enforce continuity when stopping audio.

To review which keys are set toggle fast/slow playback check the Hotkeys tab. Click OK once you are finished with your setup.
